Welcome to my Patreon!

Welcome! Just to get us started, enjoy this photo of this cursed Neptune 32x32x (1024x, 1024x^2?).

The main purpose of this Patreon is for me to communicate progress as I work through console builds.

I’ve been hesitant about starting a Patreon; there are a ton of different ways to run a Patreon and each has its own pros and cons. Ultimately, I don’t want to force anyone into a paid Patreon subscription, but I’d like a way to subsidize the cost of each console I produce. They can take quite a long time to build, and the price has so far reflected that.

So here’s my plan.

Right now, there are no paid subscription tiers. I’m going to do a few build updates for patrons to get a sense of what those updates will look like. After a few updates, I’ll be making a paid membership tier that contains future detailed updates (and maybe some more perks). I will continue to post updates for the free tier, but they’ll include only limited information.

I’m also going to start experimenting with live-streaming the build process(es). This will be available to the free tier for a limited time, and streams will eventually be moved to a paid tier once I’ve settled on the format.

This is the best compromise I could come up with; I want to provide value for people who eventually choose support me at a paid tier, but I also don’t want that to be a requirement to buy. That being said, as more patrons join paid tiers, console prices should go down.

The first project on the list is another batch of 5 Sega Neptunes. Although I have some other projects that are nearing completion, so stay tuned for those.

These are going to be sold exclusively to Patreon supporters, and this run will be available to all patrons.

I’ll update everyone on how that will work in the near future (I roughly have it figured out, I just need to polish the shop.)

The timeline for this build will be approximately 2-3 months, starting at some point in July, and pricing will be determined as the project progresses — I’ll be strictly keeping track of costs and labor so that I can be completely transparent about pricing.

Thank you!
